Leave Information and Procedures
Vacation LeaveTwelve-month full-time employees will accrue vacation leave if they are on duty, employed during College-designated paid non-duty days or on approved paid leave for at least 82.5 hours within a calendar month. The monthly vacation rate will be accrued based on the following schedule:
There is no provision for advancing vacation leave hours. No more than 330 hours can be carried forward into the next calendar year. Use of vacation leave must be approved. At time of separation, a maximum of 225 hours at the employee's current base hourly rate is payable. Payment of vacation leave for employees in grant-funded positions is subject to funding. Use of vacation leave prior to separation may be required. Vacation leave hours in excess of 330 will be transferred to a Sick Leave Carry-over account. Hours in the Sick Leave Carry-over account are not included in the terminal sick leave guidelines and are not included in any terminal pay. Sick LeaveFull-time employees earn 7.5 hours of sick leave if they are on duty, employed during College-designated paid non-duty days or on approved paid leave for at least 82.5 hours within a calendar month. There is no limit to the amount of sick leave that can be carried forward into the next calendar year. At time of separation, employees who have completed 10 years of employment at Seminole State are paid based on terminal sick leave guidelines. The pay rate is half their current base hourly rate at the time of separation. Fiscal year hours are earned based on the number of months of an appointment as follows:
Upon separation, or in cases of extended leave, employees' posted, earned and used leave hours will be reconciled. Hours that are paid in advance and used but not earned must be paid back by the employee. Personal LeaveEach calendar year, eligible employees may use a maximum of 30 hours of sick leave for personal reasons. Personal leave hours are non-cumulative. Holidays and Paid Non-Duty Days |
