Steps to Enroll: B.A.S. Students

Follow the steps below to become a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) student at Seminole State. If you have any questions regarding Seminole State's admissions process, please contact Admissions.

1. Submit an Application for Admission

Important: Students enter the Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) program as juniors.

To enter the Bachelor of Applied Science program, you must have a college degree, preferably an Associate in Science (A.S.) in Interior Design. All applicants, including current and past Seminole State students, must submit an application for the B.A.S. program to be considered. Applications will not be reviewed until official transcripts from all high schools and colleges attended are received. Be sure to send your transcripts immediately, as they must arrive before the document deadline in order for your application to be considered.

If you are a first-time-in-college student or a transfer student who has been to college but has not completed a degree, you should first apply to the Associate in Science degree in Interior Design program. During the term you anticipate graduating with your A.S. in Interior Design, you will need to apply for the B.A.S. in Interior Design by the program’s deadline.

Keep in mind that you must apply to the B.A.S. for the term in which you plan to enroll in courses. If you do not enroll in B.A.S. courses for that term, you will need to reapply to the B.A.S. program for the term in which you do plan to enroll.

If you have a college degree or will graduate with one before the beginning of the term you plan to apply for, you are ready to submit a B.A.S. application!  The fall application deadline is June 1, and the spring application deadline is October 1.

You have several options for applying to Seminole State College:

Once you apply you will receive a letter notifying you that your application is under review. Once a decision has been made based on your qualifications you will receive a second letter indicating the decision and the next steps you need to take.

2. Provide Your Transcripts

Official transcripts from your high school and any colleges you attended must be sent to the Seminole State Records Office:

Seminole State College of Florida
Records Office
100 Weldon Boulevard
Sanford, FL 32773

They must be received by the document deadline in order for your application to be considered.

3. Verify Residency Status

All students will need to prove residency for tuition purposes (students who have not taken classes at Seminole State for the past three terms will need to re-prove their residency status) by completing the Residency Affidavit and handing it in or mailing it to one of our four campuses.  Residency is a very important part of the application process and should be submitted as soon as possible.

4. Complete Financial Aid Form

If you have not applied for financial aid, do so immediately on the FAFSA website. Seminole State's six-digit FAFSA code is 001520. It typically takes four to six weeks to determine your eligibility.

5. Create a MySeminoleState Student Account

Visit MySeminoleState online and click "Create New Student Account" in the login box. Fill in the blank fields, and click "Save." If you have questions, visit the MySeminoleState Student Help Page or call the Student Communication Center at 407.708.2050.

Please wait 48 hours after creating your MySeminoleState account to view the online orientation.

6. Complete Online Orientation

Once you receive your acceptance letter, you will need to complete a mandatory online orientation session. This session has been designed specifically for B.A.S. students and will provide helpful information about the program and the college. This session is mandatory for both new and returning students.

7. Attend a Group Advising Session

After you complete the online orientation, you will be prompted to choose an advising session. This session will provide vital information about the B.A.S. program and is mandatory to enroll in classes. After the session, you will be able to register for courses.

Please bring one of the following to your advising appointment:

  • Your evaluated, unofficial Seminole State transcript, accessible via MySeminoleState.
  • Your unofficial transcripts from any previous colleges you have attended.
8. Register for Classes

Following advisement, you can register for classes using MySeminoleState.

9. Defer Your Fees

If you are receiving financial aid, you must accept or decline your financial aid and electronically sign a fee deferment. To do so, log in to MySeminoleState and select "Accept Aid and Defer Payment." Click here for detailed instructions.

10. Pay for Classes

Log in to MySeminoleState to determine how much you owe the College and your payment due date. You can pay your tuition and fees at any campus Cashiers/Business Office or online with MySeminoleState. Cash, debit cards, personal checks, American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa are accepted forms of payment.

Payment for classes is due 14 days after you register (or less if you register fewer than 14 days before the first day of classes). Failure to pay and/or defer fees will result in your classes being dropped.
