What Is An Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree?

An Associate in Science (A.S.) degree program can be one or two years long, depending on your chosen course of study. A.S. programs provide you with the knowledge necessary to perform and excel in a particular profession, and some of the credits earned in an A.S. degree program can be transferred to a four-year college or university.

An A.S. degree is earned when you successfully complete a one- or two-year course of study.

Earning an A.S. degree at Seminole State is ideal if:

  • After graduation, you wish to immediately work in your chosen field.
  • You are considering continuing your education in the future.

All A.S. degree programs articulate into the UCF Bachelor of Applied Science Degree, which is offered at UCF's regional campus on Seminole State's Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. Review Seminole State's articulation agreements for additional information.
