Seminole State is one of the largest producers of two-year degrees in the nation. One of the big benefits of earning your degree from Seminole State is that you can take your first two years of college close to home and then, once you earn your Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree, transfer to the college or university of your choice to complete your bachelor's degree.

DirectConnect to UCF

Nearly 10,000 current Seminole State students benefit from DirectConnect to UCF, a program that provides guaranteed access* to the University of Central Florida. All Seminole State students and alumni who obtain, or have previously obtained, an A.A. (or an A.S. degree from 2000 or later) qualify for DirectConnect to UCF.

Transfer to a state university

The State of Florida guarantees that students who complete their A.A. degree from Seminole State can enroll in and earn a bachelor’s degree from one of Florida's 12 state universities. This approach to earning a four-year degree is commonly referred to as the 2+2 system. Check with an academic advisor and review the online catalog of the university you plan to attend to make sure you stay on track.

Other options

• Through statewide agreements, once your earn your A.A. or A.S. degree, you can continue your studies as a junior at one of Florida's private colleges and universities.
• Since Seminole State is regionally accredited, most courses will transfer to colleges and universities across the United States.
• If you are seeking to transfer to a college or university outside of the Florida State system, it is best to visit that institution’s admissions website or contact their admissions department. Each institution has its own procedure in place for transfer students to follow.
