SCC Foundation Did you know? |
Frequently Asked QuestionsHow long does it take for the application to be processed?Scholarship award decisions are first made by the Admissions Office. Once Admissions has submitted its selections, the Foundation can begin its award process. Students must have a FAFSA on file to receive a Foundation scholarship. Most Foundation scholarships also require recipients to have an unmet financial need. Seminole State's Financial Aid Department will evaluate all scholarship applications to determine need. You can always check the status of your application online. Who do I contact to check the status of my application?By logging into the online application system, you will always know where you are in the application process. If you have questions about your status, e-mail Eve Hudson in the Admissions Office, or call her at 407.708.2134. On the questionnaire, what does "First Generation student" mean?According to Florida statute, you are considered First Generation in College if neither of your parents earned a baccalaureate degree or higher. If you regularly resided with and received support from only one parent, the classification is based on whether your primary parent earned a baccalaureate degree. Remember: You are typically only eligible for Foundation scholarships if your financial aid account shows an unmet need. Be sure to hit "Save" after you've made the appropriate edits. Does the essay apply for every scholarship?Yes. Can I resubmit an essay?Yes.
