Dream Cup Challenge Golf Tournament

The Foundation for Seminole State College welcomed a sold-out assembly of 144 business leaders and College supporters to its 31st annual Dream Cup Challenge Golf Tournament presented by Sunniland Corp., raising $44,000 for student programs, scholarships and other areas of need at the college.

The 18-hole competition was held April 21 at the Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes in Longwood and featured special competitions and activities throughout the course such as longest drive, closest to the pin and inside the circle.

The foursome representing Nature's Table (pictured below) won the tournament.

In addition to the money raised through the tournament, Masil Blythe, widow of Mack Blythe, presented a gift of $10,000 to establish an endowed program account to support Seminole State's Athletic Program.

A capacity of 36 foursomes participated. Refreshments and giveaways were available throughout the course at tents set up by event sponsors, including Popular Community Bank, Matern, Central Florida Regional Hospital and Wharton-Smith. Lunch was sponsoreed by Jax Fifth Avenue Deli & Ale House, and beverages were provided by Wayne Densch and Coca-Cola.
