Seminole State's firefighter certification curriculum is a limited-access program, with far more applicants than slots available. The program is staffed by instructors who have years of experience in the field. These instructors prepare students with the knowledge and real-world guidance they need to pass state-required certification exams and to function with a high degree of on-the-job proficiency.
More than 90 percent of Seminole State fire science students have been certified on their first attempt at the state examination.
Given Central Florida's population growth and the retirement of many firefighters, job opportunities will be plentiful in the next five years.
