Fire Science

A.S. Degree in Fire Science Technology

Center for Public SafetySeminole State College’s Associate in Science (A.S.) Fire Science Technology Program provides you with the education and training to move up the career ladder.

This two-year program, delivered by professors with years of professional firefighting experience, is offered online and in the classroom setting.

Graduates are prepared for supervisory and leadership positions with public fire departments, insurance companies, industrial firms, governmental agencies, educational organizations and fire protection manufacturing and research groups. Certified Florida firefighters also may qualify for supplemental compensation.

The A.S. Fire Science Technology Program's curriculum includes courses that meet state requirements to prepare you for certifications as a:

  • Fire Officer
  • Fire Safety Inspector
  • Fire Instructor
  • Florida Certified Pump Operator
  • Building Inspector
  • Fire Investigator
