Applying for Aid

These instructions are designed to give students step-by-step instructions on how to apply for financial aid. It also provides information on the various aid programs available at Seminole State. The Financial Aid staff is available to help with all aspects of the application, awarding and disbursement processes of student financial aid.

Step 1. Apply for Admission. New students must apply for admission. New and returning students must be in an eligible program. Have your official H.S. and college(s) transcripts sent to Records in the Registrars office.
Step 2. Log on to * and fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) electronically. Students may also print and complete the FAFSA form and send it in through the mail. In approximately 4 to 6 weeks the U.S. Department of Education will mail a Student Aid Report (SAR) to the student's home address.

* If selected for verification, additional documents will be required, such as:
  • Proof of Citizenship
  • Proof of Selective Service Registration
  • Proof of Immigration Status
  • Verification Form
  • Income Tax Return
  • Verification of Untaxed Income (Social Security Benefits, AFDC, Pensions, Child Support, etc.
