Financial Aid Guide

Determining Financial Need

The purpose of the Financial Aid Program at Seminole State College is to provide assistance to eligible students who wish to further their education but do not have the financial means necessary to attend college without support.

Financial need is the difference between a student's estimated cost of education and the amount he or she and his or her family are expected to contribute to these costs.

The cost of education includes tuition and fees; books and supplies; room and board; and miscellaneous personal expenses. Nine-month budgets for full-time students used in 2010 are as follows:

College Credit/Vocational Off-Campus Parents
Tuition/Fees $ 2,196 $ 2,196
Books/Supplies $ 1,300 $ 1,300
Room/Board $ 6,462 $ 2,476
Transportation $ 1,710 $ 1,710
Personal Expenses $ 900 $ 900
Total $12,568 $8,582
Bachelor Off-Campus Parents
Tuition/Fees $ 2,424 $ 2,424
Books/Supplies $ 1,300 $ 1,300
Room/Board $ 6,462 $ 2,476
Transportation $ 1,710 $ 1,710
Personal Expenses $ 900 $ 900
Total $12,796 $8,810

Note: An additional allowance is added to the appropriate budget for students paying out-of-state fees.

  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress in their selected course of study
