Farmworker Jobs and Education Home Page

The Florida Department of Education's Farmworker Jobs and Education Program (FJEP) is designed to serve seasonal farm workers, including plant nursery laborers, and their dependents. The program's goal is to help participants develop the skills to find and keep gainful employment.

If your answer to all of these questions is YES, Seminole State may be able to help you!

  • Are you a farm worker (or the spouse or dependent child of a farm worker)?
  • Have you (or your parents or spouse) done farm work at some time during the past 24 months?
  • Is your total income very low?

What We Can Offer

To help you train for a new career, the following services are available:

  • Counseling and evaluation to help you set new goals and find a job that’s right for you
  • Basic skills training if you need help with reading, writing or math
  • ESOL-English for Speakers of Other Languages if you need help learning English
  • GED study centers if you want to earn a high school diploma
  • Job skills training to teach you the skills you need for the job you want
  • Job readiness training to help you find, apply for and keep a good job – and get ahead
  • Financial aid to help you take part in the program
