The 12th annual Freaks & Geeks, a gaming competition and expo, will take place Friday, Nov. 11, beginning at 6 p.m. at Seminole State College of Florida's Center for Economic Development at Heathrow.
Freaks & Geeks, which is hosted by the College’s Digital Media and Network Technology programs, will include an expo for students to meet and network with industry professionals as well as design and gaming competitions.
This free event will also include a student digital art show, industry displays and demonstrations.
Freaks & Geeks started out with an enthusiastic professor and a few students who wanted to play LAN games after midterms. Since then, it has grown into a community event and was named "Best Computer Event" by Florida Leader Magazine.
Previous industry partners have included Disney Feature Animation, EA-Tiburon, UCF's Digital Media Program, local print shops, graphic designers, storyboard artists, advertising agencies, Bright House Networks, Microsoft and the Digital Media Alliance Florida.
The Heathrow Campus is at 1055 AAA Drive.
