- Wireless coverage: We are still working to expand the wireless coverage area on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus and will continue to enable wireless network access as buildings are renovated. Our most recent two projects created 100 percent wireless coverage throughout the Center for Public Safety and the Partnership Center, running at 802.11N. Some other campus buildings, such as the CFADA Professional Automotive Training Center, also have 100 percent wireless coverage.

Wireless Infrastructure
- Hardware and software: Our wireless network runs on a variety of industry standard access points supporting 802.11A, B, G and N wireless networks. Our wireless network is protected by our Network Access Control (NAC) server. The NAC server controls access to a variety of network resources by authenticating users. Students, faculty and staff have access to our wireless network. Guest access is also available as a courtesy to our visitors.
- Wireless information: Our wireless service set identifier (SSID) is "Seminole State-WiFi." You will see this SSID when you browse for wireless networks on your laptop from a campus location. Seminole State-WiFi is a non-secure wireless connection. When you associate with this network, your browser will be redirected to our login portal. From here you can log in with your Novell Network ID or log in as a guest. If you log in with your network credentials, you will have more bandwidth on our wireless network than if you log in as a guest.
- Wireless monitoring: We monitor our wireless network to identify users who are abusing the system by downloading illegal software such as MP3s, games and movies. Students who use our network to download illegal software or otherwise violate the College's acceptable use policy may face disciplinary action and have their wireless privileges revoked.
