Law Enforcement Officer Certificate

With a wide variety of officer types and organizations, the primary responsibility of law enforcement officers is to protect lives and property; all of their duties vary but are rooted in achieving this one responsibility. In almost all situations, law enforcement officers are expected to fulfill their responsibilities whether on or off duty.

Seminole State's Criminal Justice Academy offers a training program for law enforcement officers, which focuses on:

  • Emergency situations
  • Defensive tactics and weapons
  • Vehicle operation and traffic enforcement
  • Law enforcement patrol
  • Criminal investigations
  • Relationships with the community
  • Legal issues

This program prepares students for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's (FDLE) exam. Students cannot be employed as a law enforcement officer in Florida unless they pass this exam.
