Gordon "Scott" Pleasants, ProfessorGordon "Scott" Pleasants entered the field of law enforcement as a police officer in 1985. He was assigned to the City/County Investigative Bureau in 1989 and spent eight years as an undercover agent, working investigations ranging from street-level drug offenses to racketeering targeting drug and prostitution organizations. He was promoted through the ranks to lieutenant, where he supervised a variety of units and divisions, including the Patrol Division, the Community Response Team, the Traffic Section, Professional Standards and the Special Operations Division. Pleasants began to train by assisting as a field training officer. He also provided in-service training to the members of the Casselberry Police Department in areas such as building searches, traffic and felony stops, the internal affairs process and diversified investigations. Additionally, Pleasants provided oversight for the Training and Community Relations Section. Pleasants became a professor for Seminole State's Criminal Justice Department after retiring from law enforcement in 2010. He has an Associate in Arts degree from Seminole State College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia College of Missouri, a Master of Science degree in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University and is working toward a second master's degree in criminal justice at Columbia College of Missouri.
