Alan Kraft, Program Manager and ProfessorAlan Kraft began his law enforcement career in the U.S. Air Force. In 1970, he was honorably discharged and joined the Daytona Beach Police Department as an officer, and during his seven-and-a-half years with the department, he patrolled in a police car and as a member of its robbery stakeout unit. In 1977, Kraft moved to Anchorage, Alaska, and became an officer with the Anchorage Police Department. While employed in Anchorage, he worked in uniform patrol, was in charge of the Hostage Negotiations Unit and was the senior trainer and lead investigator in the Domestic Violence Unit. Kraft was selected in 1982 to attend an 80-hour command school for hostage situations at the FBI Academy and became the senior trainer for domestic violence/stalking and hostage negotiations/suicide intervention. In 1998, Kraft retired and moved back to Florida, settling in Rockledge. He has a bachelor's degree in human service and a master's degree in business management and organization. Kraft became a full-time faculty member at Seminole State in 2001 after several years as an adjunct professor. |
