Program Description

This is a comprehensive program focused on policy, planning and administration of Homeland Security within the criminal justice system. The curriculum introduces students to the history of Homeland Security and integrates the technical and communication aspects of Homeland Security, criminal justice and legal issues surrounding Homeland Security and protocols for the coordination of agencies within the National Incident Management System and National Response Framework. Students will gain an understanding of the all-hazards perspective in the preparation and response to Homeland Security threats as well as the hazards surrounding weapons of mass destruction. Students who complete this program will be eligible to receive the Homeland Security Specialist Certificate. This certificate is upward compatible with the A.S. degree, Criminal Justice Technology.
