Criminal Justice Institute
Did you know...Seminole State's Criminal Justice Institute offers online classes that are self-paced and interactive.
The purpose of the Law Enforcement/Corrections Officer Articulation Agreement is to provide graduates of Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJSTC)-certified training academies with college-level course credit, which can be applied toward an Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in Criminal Justice Technology at Seminole State College.
The agreement applies only to students who completed the Law Enforcement Academy or Corrections Officer Academy after 1997.
Students who wish to receive credit for completion of either the Law Enforcement Academy or the Corrections Officer Academy must submit their Certificate of Completion to the Criminal Justice program manager for review and verification. Students must also complete a Request for Credit Transfer Form, which can be obtained from the Criminal Justice Institute in person or online. The Criminal Justice program manager must submit this form to the Registrar's Office before credit can be posted to a student's transcript.
To receive transcript credit, students must complete 12 hours of college-level coursework at Seminole State after graduating from the Criminal Justice Academy.

II. Graduates of the Corrections Officer Academy shall receive 16 college-credit hours toward an A.S. degree in Criminal Justice Technology for the following courses (as listed in the statewide course numbering system):
III. The academies include all of those certified by the CJSTC to provide the Law Enforcement or Corrections Officer Certificate Program.
IV. This agreement took effect Term I, 2002-2003, and replaced any previous existing agreements. Students who have received credit under the previous agreement are not entitled to any rights or privileges granted under this agreement.
V. The above approved components are based on the 2002-2003 College Catalog and are subject to change by BOR, DOE and legislative action, or by Seminole State without notice. This agreement shall continue until such time as Seminole State deems it necessary to revise or terminate the agreement.
