Advising for Incoming StudentsFirst-Time-in-College StudentsOnce accepted to Seminole State College, first-time-in-college (FTIC) students must complete an online orientation through MySeminoleState. After finishing the orientation, they will be prompted to sign up for an FTIC Group Advisement session. FTIC students are required to attend a group advising session before they can register for classes. During FTIC Group Advisement, students will learn about the College's policies and procedures and receive specific information about the program they plan to study. Academic advisors will lead each session and help students enroll in their first-term classes. To ensure accurate placement into classes, FTIC students should provide the following documentation to their advisor:
Transfer StudentsAccepted transfer students must complete an online orientation through MySeminoleState. Advisors will use unofficial transcripts, GPA and other available information to determine students' first-term course placement. Transfer students are required to submit their official transcripts to the Office of Enrollment Services. Enrollment Services will evaluate the transcripts to determine how much credit to award for previously completed course work and exams. Students must be currently enrolled in order to have their transcripts evaluated, and evaluation may take up to one term to complete. Course selection may be limited until the process is finished. |
