The Counseling and Educational Planning Department will provide short-term crisis intervention counseling to assist a student through the challenging time. Crisis situations include:
Referral to area agenciesSeminole State counselors have expertise to provide therapy, however, Seminole State is an educational institution and not a mental health or substance abuse center. Problems that need more than three to five counseling sessions are referred to appropriate external agencies. Substance abuse counseling and referralStudents needing substance abuse counseling are referred to appropriate external agencies. Confidentiality PolicyAll information disclosed within a session, as well as the fact of signing up for services, is confidential and will not be revealed to anyone outside of the Counseling and Educational Planning Office without written permission of the student, except under three conditions:
