Parent Newsletters

The grant provides for quarterly parent newsletters to be distributed to centers via e-mail, regular mail and by pick-up at our office. Newsletters will include articles on early literacy, recommendations for children's books from local libraries, activities that parents can do at home with children to reinforce early literacy and math skills, developmental milestones and age-appropriate activities, as related to the performance standards. There will also be an "Ask the Editor" column to address positive guidance, with questions from parents.

Providers will acknowledge receipt of the newsletters and report the number of newsletters distributed in their centers, as well as comments from parents on the helpfulness of the newsletter.

Parent Brochures

Seminole State's Early Childhood Education Department develops a collection of parent brochures on topics of interest to parents. Providers have shared some of the needs that their parents may have for these topics. Some subjects include:
