Legislation passed in Florida during the 1999 legislative session requires all childcare and education program directors and administrators to have the Florida Director Credential as part of the minimum licensing standards for all childcare centers.
The credential will be required for directors/administrators of childcare centers. For the purpose of the credential, the term "administrator" is used to describe the role of the primary person responsible for the day-to-day operation, supervision and administration of the center. A minimum of one person at each site must have the credential.
Advanced level is optional.
Seminole State is the only facility providing this training for center directors in Seminole County. We also allow directors and future directors to take the credential courses while obtaining their CDA or course requirements for Form 5211. Please see the course schedule for course offerings. Online courses for the Director Credential are coming soon. Class space is limited for both online and on-site courses. Please contact the Child Development Department at 407.708.2413 for more information regarding these course offerings.
The application is available online at http://myflorida.com/childcare/training.
