IND 2221 Section 2857 - Commercial Interior Design II
This course is a continuation of Commercial Interior Design I and provides an advanced individual and collaborative team approach to non-residential problem-solving. Development of interior commercial spaces from conceptual phases to final design resolution based on interior considerations and external influences will be applied using computer-generated software such as CAD. Emphasis will be placed on creative space planning and spatial analysis, life safety codes research and application of codes, the selection and specification of interior finishes and furnishings. Projects will integrate non-structural building systems, lighting technologies and consider indoor environmental quality factors such as acoustics and speech privacy. Professional level graphic techniques and client presentations will be used to convey design solutions. Students must complete this course with a grade of "C" or higher. Lab fee required.
Prerequisites: IND 2016 and IND 2305 and IND 2460C or department permission.
