This advanced course is a continuation of IND 2500 with an emphasis on contemporary professional business practices, current licensing and certification implications and other evolving issues in the interior design industry. Students will explore legal responsibilities and how an interior design business meets its legal obligations in a business environment; strategic planning and measuring business performance in a design practice; selling strategies and techniques and product pricing. A seminar on business etiquette will provide experience related to operating a successful interior design business. Individual, group and peer assessments are incorporated into the course to provide an invaluable, multi-perspective view of the course topics. This course must be completed with a grade of "C" or higher.
Prerequisite: IND 2500.
