Women's Golf Head Coach, Christa Teno

Christa TenoHead Women's Golf Coach Christa Teno, a former LPGA Tour player, is in her third year with Seminole State.

After a successful first season at Seminole State, Teno was named the 2008 Southeast Coach of the Year by the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Teaching and Club Professional membership. In 2009, she led the Raiders to a third-place finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association's (NJCAA) National Golf Championship.

Teno has 34 years of golf experience and 20 years of teaching experience. She played four years on the LPGA Tour and won the Futures and Gold Coast tours multiple times. Teno is also a Class A member of the LPGA Teaching Division and is involved in the LPGA's education process as a national evaluator. 

Teno's career highlights include:

  • LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division Class A
  • LPGA National Evaluator
  • LPGA Teaching and Club Professional National Champion (1998)
  • Southeast Section Team Champion (1998-2000)
  • Southeast Section LPGA Tournament (third in 1998; second in 1999; and third in 2006)
  • LPGA Tour Player (1989-1991, 1996)
  • Women's U.S. Open Participant (1988)
  • Gold Coast Tour Champion (1994 and 1995)
  • 19 Top-10 finishes on Gold Coast Tour
  • Futures Golf Tour: Second on Money List (1992)
  • North Texas State Female Athlete of the Year (1985)

Teno holds a bachelor's degree in interpersonal and public communication from North Texas State University. She officially assumed her coaching responsibilities at Seminole State on March 1, 2007.
