Raider Athletes Give Back

Raider athletes are committed to serving the local community. When not in the classroom or facing off against athletic opponents, the players on Seminole State's three sports teams focus on giving back to the College and the surrounding area.

"Our goal is to give back in everything we do," Assistant Athletic Director Mike Nicholson says. "We are always front and center on the field or course, but it is equally important to have a behind-the-scenes presence in the community."

Seminole State's athletic teams participated in several outreach projects during the 2008-09 season, including park cleanups, sports clinics, breast cancer-awareness initiatives and family-assistance programs. They also worked with elementary school students and handicapped children to encourage learning and development.
