Head Baseball Coach Chris Hayes
Fourth-year Head Baseball Coach Chris Hayes' strong work ethic and tremendous passion make him one of the top young coaches and recruiters in the Southeast. As a former assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Jacksonville University, he led his team to two Atlantic Sun Conference championships and back-to-back NCAA regional appearances. Hayes also received national accolades with consecutive recruiting classes ranked in Collegiate Baseball's Top 40 Poll. Prior to his work at JU, Hayes spent two years coaching at Wolfson High School in Jacksonville. He also played for the Toronto Blue Jays organization for five years, finishing his professional career in the AA Southern League in Knoxville, Tenn. A Jacksonville native, Hayes earned his bachelor's degree in finance in 1995 and his MBA in 2007 from Jacksonville University. He played college baseball at JU from 1992-95, garnering two All-Conference awards and a Sun Belt Conference championship. He also was twice-drafted in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. |
