Baseball Lessons


Baseball lessons at Seminole State are appropriate for children 6-18 years old.


Seminole State's assistant baseball coaches are available every Monday-Saturday from noon-7 p.m.

Times and dates are flexible, and lessons can be booked in advance to fit your schedule.

Lessons will take place in Seminole State College's state-of-the-art covered hitting facility (pictured), which opened in during the 2012 Fall Term. You can read more about the facility here.


Costs vary by lesson length and package as follows:

  • Single half-hour lesson: $40
  • Single one-hour lesson: $75
  • Five half-hour lessons: $175
  • Five one-hour lessons: $325
  • 10 half-hour lessons: $300 (best value!)
  • 10 one-hour lessons: $600 (best value!)


One of Seminole State's highly qualified assitant coaches is currently available to teach baseball lessons.

Doug Freeman

  • Seminole State's hitting/catching coach
  • 2010 Mid-Florida Conference Defensive Player of The Year
  • Played for Fort Worth Cats and Alexandria Aces in the United Professional Baseball League

Owen Dew

  • Seminole State's pitching coach
  • Drafted in 2009 by the Los Angeles Angels
  • Played for UCF from 2009-10
  • Drafted in 2010 by the Cleveland Indians 
  • Played four years professionally with Cleveland and Colorado
