Opportunities for Athletic Training and Sports Medicine StudentsSeminole State College's Athletics Department supports the academic process for sports medicine and athletic training. There are many components to earning a degree, national certification or state licensure in athletic training. Two important steps include pre-program observation under the supervision of a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and program-assigned clinical rotations. Seminole State can help athletic training students meet these requirements. Pre-Curriculum Student Observers/VolunteersAn important requirement for acceptance into an accredited Athletic Training Education Program is the completion of a minimum of 100 documented clock hours spent learning, working and volunteering with a licensed Certified Athletic Trainer. Please e-mail Mike Nicholson, assistant athletic director, or call 407.708.2148 for current athletic training student volunteer opportunities. Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) Clinical StudentsSemester clinical rotations in approved athletic training environments is part of the ATEP experience for an athletic training student. Seminole State's Athletics Department is an approved site for the University of Central Florida's Athletic Training Education Program. Need more info?General Information |
