Athletic Training and Sports Medicine

Overall health is as important to competitive athletics as speed, cardiovascular efficiency and muscular strength. At Seminole State College, a team of sports medicine professionals oversees the health and well-being of our athletes. The first tier in that team is the on-site Board Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer (ATC/L).

Certified athletic trainers are educated, trained and licensed healthcare professionals who provide immediate care to athletes through injury prevention programs, first aid, on-site injury recognition and evaluation, and musculo-skeletal rehabilitation.

If a health issue arises that falls beyond the expertise of the on-site athletic trainer, area specialists can be called as part of Seminole State's extended sports medicine team.
