This program is designed to meet the common prerequisites required for students transferring with an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree to the Music Performance major at a public college or university in the State of Florida. Students will complete the A.A., General degree, including common program prerequisites for their program of choice. Students must work with SCC Student Services counselors, advisers, or specialists to make sure required courses are taken and entry requirements are met for the college/university program of choice. It is the students' responsibility to contact the Student Services Advising staff to ensure that their degree program at SCC contains the appropriate courses and prerequisites for their selected baccalaureate degree program. Students may also refer to the online A.A. Transfer Evaluation through www.FACTS.org for further information on their transfer program of choice.

A concentrated study of the fundamental materials of music theory and elementary part-writing. It is recommended to take course MUT 1241 while taking this course. Department consent required. Students will need to obtain department chair's signature and register in person.

This course is a continuation of MUT 1111 with an emphasis on harmonic analysis. It is recommended to take course MUT 1242 while taking this course.

MUT2116Music Theory III
This course is a continuation of MUT 1112 with an emphasis on part-writing and chromatic harmony. It is recommended to take course MUT 2246 while taking this course.

MUT2117Music Theory IV
This course is a continuation of MUT 2116 with an emphasis on form structures and 20th century compositional techniques. It is recommended to take course MUT 2246 while taking this course.

MUT1241Sightsinging and Ear Training I
This course is the study of sightsinging and ear training techniques using diatonic material that emphasizes the fundamental aspect of tonality. It is recommended to take laboratory course MUT 1111 while taking this course. Department consent required. Students will need to obtain department chair's signature and register in person.

This course is a continuation of MUT 1241 Sightsinging and Ear Training I. It is recommended to take laboratory course MUT 1112 while taking this course.
