Non-Intensive ESOL

Non-Intensive ESOL

  • Provides English classes for students who use English as a second language
  • Teaches functional English (English for everyday tasks)
  • Offers multiple levels of English instruction
  • Consists of four to six instruction hours each week

Program Highlights

The Non-Intensive program offers:

  • Multiple class levels (beginning to advanced) to help students improve their English skills
  • Qualified instructors who specialize in teaching ESOL
  • A friendly, academic atmosphere
  • Free classes for adults ages 16 and older who can be classified as one of the following:
    1. U.S. citizen
    2. U.S. permanent resident
    3. Refugee

Skills Taught

Through the program, students will develop the following English skills:

  • Speaking/Listening
  • Grammar
  • Reading
  • Writing

Classes

Non-Intensive ESOL classes are available on two Seminole State campuses:

  • Sanford/Lake Mary Campus: Weekday evenings
  • Altamonte Springs Campus: Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings (Fall and Spring terms only)
