For eligibility to take the GED exam, underage students must complete one full term of classes, pass a pre-GED test at the end of the term and obtain their instructor's approval/recommendation. GED TestingSeminole State provides GED test registration monthly in A-107. The GED examination is comprised of five sub-tests. The complete battery is a primarily multiple-choice test and includes a written essay. Approximately 20 percent of the mathematics test is not multiple choice. A candidate who passes the GED test will receive a State of Florida high school diploma from the Florida State Department of Education. To register, candidates must apply in person and present:
The test costs $70 for the full battery and $14 for each re-test for social studies, science, literature or math. The retest fee for writing skills is $16. Fees are subject to change. A minimum standard score of 410 is required to pass each test. To earn a diploma, students must pass all five sub-tests and obtain a total of 2,250 points.
