The award includes a $10,000 scholarship, a new Daimler-Chrysler, a new Honda and a trophy cup. The Awards Ceremony is scheduled for November 29 in Atlanta. Congratulations to Jim Cox, Dean Angela Kersenbrock, Barbara Miller and the Automotive Team! Nice timing with the opening of the CFADA Professional Automotive Training Facility!

We received word today that the SCC Foundation newsletter won a First Place Award from the Institutional Advancement Commission of the Florida Association of Community Colleges. The award will be given in Tampa on November 2. You may remember that the Foundation contracts with Michael Garlich's area to design and print their publications. Congratulations to Michael, Matt Hodge and their staffs!

Parking Lot Renovations

Renovations to parking lot #2, located in front of the Weldon and Student Success Services buildings on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus, started today and include a temporary closure of the entire parking lot in October. According to SCC's Facilities Department, the total closure of the lot is expected to last six business days (Friday, Oct. 6 and Monday - Friday, Oct. 9-13), resulting in a safer, more easily navigated traffic pattern, plus 46 new faculty/staff parking spots.
