Kudos

SCC's Interior Design students were honored by the Orlando Opera Guild. The students' projects - the kitchen and pantry areas -- were selected #2 in popular votes at this year's Designer Show House. These awards helped to highlight the College's new Kitchen and Bath Interior Design A.S. Degree. Congratulations to Jill Smith and the Interior Design students.

Softball Award

Freshman pitcher, Lacey Swarthout, was named to the Louisville Slugger NJCAA/NFCA All South Region First Team. She was one of four pitchers selected for the award. Lacey set several school pitching records this season including most wins (26), most strikeouts (222), and most shut-outs (12).

Donation

Tonight's agenda includes acceptance of an "oil on canvas" painting titled "Fitted" from Dr. and Mrs. Galen Etemad, the couple who sold SCC the initial property for the Oviedo Campus. This abstract painting was done by Mrs. Etamad. It seems that they were very concerned about the preservation of the natural environment. When they visited the campus recently, they were thrilled to see that the environment had been protected and thought that the buildings were a perfect fit. If the Board accepts this painting, it will be placed in the library at the Oviedo Campus with a small plaque of tribute underneath it.
