Presidential Report December 19, 2001
Graduation Thanks to the Trustees who attended our multiple graduations last week.
Winter Break The College will be closed from December 20 through January 1, 2002. We will resume operations on January 2. Classes begin on January 7.
Heritage Jubilee The Heritage Jubilee sponsored by the African-American Cultural Forum will be held January 11, at 8:00 PM in the Fine Arts Auditorium.
Council of Presidents/Council of Trustee Chairs The next Council meetings will be held January 24 and 25 in Tallahassee. All Trustees are invited to attend. Please let Linda know if you will attend. Travel arrangements have been made to fly out of Sanford at 7:45AM on January 24 and return January 25 at 3:30 PM.
Budget Briefing The state-mandated reductions will be addressed by Chris Hamilton. Also of note is our increase in enrollment (17.5%) for Term I and approximately 15% for Term II.
Computer Conversion We have talked for many months about our leaving the computer consortium and searching for a product that would meet our needs as we attempt to keep our technological edge. Carol Hawkins will address the recommendation that will be made by the committee that has been studying this. This is preliminary information as we will not be asking the Board to make a decision until next month.
