Sixteen student-athletes were named to the Mid-Florida Academic All-Conference team for the 2000-2001 year. Congratulations to these outstanding student-athletes for their successes on the field and in the classroom.

SCC Foundation Retreat

Thank you to Dede Schaffner and Ken Sylvester for representing the Board at the first-ever SCC Foundation Board retreat this past Friday and Saturday. The Board, under the direction of Chairman Larry Stewart with SunTrust and Pam Weber, the Executive Director, with the assistance of consultant, Jim Donovan, was led through a series of exercises designed to have them better understand SCC and our vision. The goal was to enable each Board member to articulate SCC in 90 seconds to anyone who will listen.

Additionally, they worked toward establishing a fundraising goal for the next 3 years. The goal is ambitious and still needs to be reviewed with the Board members who were not able to attend. It will then be officially adopted by the Board. We are on our way.

On Friday, July 20, at 9 a.m., we will officially dedicate the Center For Building Construction. All are invited to attend.
