Executive Vice President, Administrative Services/Chief Financial Officer
Dr. Joe Sarnovsky joined Seminole State in July 2002 with an impressive background in business, finance and construction that serves the community college system.
As executive vice president, Sarnovsky makes decisions in the president's absence, assists the president in facilitiating Executive Team decisions about College operations and represents the College in the community.
Assuming the role of chief financial officer, Sarnovsky provides advice and counsel to the President and the campus community, with regard to resource management and regulatory compliance. He is responsible for the leadership and management of the Finance and Administrative Services Division, including executive guidance, direction and policy formulation for the fiscal, logistical and administrative support functions of the College.
Prior to joining Seminole State, Sarnovsky served 14 years at Lorain County Community College in Ohio and most recently as its Vice President for Administrative Services/Treasurer. Prior to his promotion to VP, Joe was the Controller for the College. His background also includes 10 years of corporate fiscal management and experience in integrating data processing and planning.
A graduate of a community college, Sarnovsky earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Cleveland State University and an MBA from Baldwin-Wallace College. He earned his CPA in 1985 and is an active member of several community college leadership organizations. In 2012, he earned his Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.
