Dr. Marcia RomanVice President, Student Affairs
Dr. Marcia A. Roman brings more than 20 years experience to her role as Vice President of Student Affairs. Prior to joining the College in 2002, Dr. Roman worked in public and private institutions of higher education, including several multicampus community colleges where she was responsible for implementing new or redesigning student services. She was a tenured faculty member at Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania, and subsequently at Daytona State College, where she had direct student contact as well as administrative responsibilities in workforce development, articulation and student affairs. Dr. Roman is responsible for cultivating a learning environment that promotes the academic, personal and social development of students. She also provides leadership and coordination to ensure that students receive the highest-quality student support services from the time they first interact with the College through program completion. Dr. Roman earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida, and master's degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. Her undergraduate work included a year of studies in philosophy and theology at the Katholieke Universiteit te Leuven/Louvain, Belgium. She serves on the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels in Seminole County. |
