Collegewide Spring Graduation Ceremony
At 2 p.m. next Sunday, May 5, we will hold our first spring collegewide Commencement ceremony at the UCF Arena, to include graduates from each academic school: Arts and Sciences; Career and Professional Programs; Engineering, Design and Construction; and Academic Foundations. This ceremony will also mark the first time that Seminole State will award Bachelor of Science degrees: our B.S. in Business and Information Management and our B.S. in Construction. We will also award B.A.S. degrees in Interior Design degrees plus our many associate degrees and certificates. Former Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy will be the featured speaker.
Summer Work Hours Begin
On May 13, the College will begin the summer four-day class and work weeks. This summer schedule will continue through Friday, July 26. All employees will resume regular work hours and a five-day work week on Monday, July 29. Mini-Grant Spring Awards
All full-time College faculty and staff are invited to apply for the annual Mini-Grant Program of the Foundation for Seminole State College. The maximum award for an individual grant is $2,000. Grants are awarded by a committee composed of members of the Foundation Board of Directors. The deadline for grant submission is 4 p.m. on Friday, May 10. Share Your Accomplishments
In advance of the upcoming Collegewide Convocation on Sept. 17, all employees are invited to submit your accomplishments so they can be recognized on Seminole State’s website in the new “Applause! Applause!” All Seminole State employees, including part-time staff and adjunct instructors, are invited to contribute. To submit your accomplishment(s) for this year’s edition, please complete the online form and submit your information by 4 p.m. on Friday, June 28. Please note: Your submission may be edited for length.
The Chancellor of the Florida College System has asked each college to share a list of faculty and program accomplishments. All Seminole State faculty and staff are invited to input your program rankings and professional awards into an online survey on our Seminole State website. Please submit your accomplishments by May 13 so that our Institutional Effectiveness constituents may compile Seminole State’s response. The survey is available through the Institutional Effectiveness website.
College Advisory Council Recap
On April 23, the College Advisory Council (CAC) met for the monthly exchange of information and ideas between the Executive Team and leaders from the Faculty Senate, the Career Service Employees Council (CSEC), the Professional Employee Council (PEC), the SGA, and other areas of the College.
