Summer Work Hours Begin
Next week, the College will begin the summer four-day class and work weeks. This summer schedule will continue through Friday, July 27, 2012. Complete details on work week schedules at Seminole State during the summer months are available here.
Athletics State Championships
Seminole State’s softball and women’s golf teams made history last weekend, bringing home their first-ever state championships. Both teams now move on to compete for a national championship. The women’s golf team, now ranked No. 3, will compete in the NJCAA National Tournament in Daytona Beach May 14-17. The softball team will travel to St. George, Utah, to play for a national title May 17-19. Congratulations to Softball Coach Courtney Miller, Golf Coach Christa Teno and both teams for their hard work and amazing achievements!
Mini Grants Spring Awards – Applications Requested
All full-time faculty and staff are invited to apply for the annual Mini-Grant Program of the Foundation for Seminole State College. The maximum award for an individual grant is $2,000. Grants are awarded by a committee composed of members of the Foundation Board of Directors. Deadline for grant submission is 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 10. College Phone Numbers
The answering of phone calls about Admissions, Enrollment Services and Financial Aid at Seminole State is being outsourced to a third party that is better equipped to handle the large number of telephone inquiries. Based on a collaborative assessment conducted by Student Affairs, College Relations and Marketing, and CTS, the following changes have taken place:
College Advisory Council Recap
On April 17, the College Advisory Council (CAC) met for the monthly exchange of information and ideas between the Executive Team and leaders from the Faculty Senate, the CSEC, the PEC, the SGA and other areas of the College.
