Help Seminole State’s Food Pantries
This year’s Leadership Academy class has created a unique class project – “Feed the Need”– designed to increase employee awareness of and participation with our Food Pantries located on each Seminole State campus. Under the auspices of our Diversity & Inclusiveness initiative, the food pantries are available for our students – and even some employees – who have found themselves in need during the current tough economic times. “Feed the Need” is a great opportunity for every employee to learn more about how you can assist those who need a hand up, so please register to attend one of the following February sessions facilitated by the 2011-12 Leadership Academy class:
Grants Training Workshops
The College’s Grants Department has begun a new, internal Grant Training Workshop Series in an effort to strengthen support for Seminole State College faculty and staff. Each month during the Spring Term two training workshops will be conducted. One of these workshops will focus on a pre-award topic (e.g., grant concept development, grant proposal strategies), and one on a post-award topic (e.g., spending grant funds, grant reporting). All faculty and staff who are experienced in pursuing and managing grants, as well as those who are interested in learning more about how to become involved in grants, are encouraged to sign up for a workshop. To maximize flexibility, this spring’s workshops have been scheduled for various days of the week and at different times of the day, and should last no longer than 90 minutes (including time for discussion and Q-and-A). Here are the two workshops and the sign-up links for February’s sessions:
