Endowed Teaching Chair Feedback Requested Congratulations to the 20 faculty members who have been nominated for a 2013 Endowed Teaching Chair Award:
Now, the Endowed Teaching Chair Screening Committee is seeking the participation of all employees in the process by asking you to provide input about each of these nominees via a confidential survey available online now through Dec. 20 http://www.seminolestate.edu/foundation/endowedchair/survey.php. The Screening Committee urges you to complete surveys for any faculty nominee, but especially to provide information regarding nominees within your own departments. These additional comments will greatly aid the Committee in recognizing the many ways our faculty members have distinguished themselves. Please feel free to complete a survey on more than one nominee. Office PCs During the College’s last operational IT audit, the state auditors made several recommendations to improve cyber security. One of those is the implementation of an automatic timed lockout for administrative workstations. Therefore, between now and Tuesday, Dec. 18, CTS will be configuring changes to every employee’s office PC to include a setting that will cause each PC to automatically enter into a “locked” state after 20 consecutive minutes of inactivity. The locked state will not close applications or work in progress, but will require that the user press Ctrl Alt Del and enter a username and password to resume use of the PC. Please note: These changes will apply only to employee computers. Student labs, kiosks, Smart Classroom and similar PCs will not be affected at this time. If you have questions regarding these configuration changes or updates, please contact the CTS HelpDesk (ext. 2000). College Advisory Council Recap On Dec. 4, the College Advisory Council (CAC) met for the monthly exchange of information and ideas between the Executive Team and leaders from the Faculty Senate, the Career Service Employees Council (CSEC), the Professional Employee Council (PEC), the SGA, and other areas of the College. Here is a brief recap of the discussion regarding each agenda item from the December meeting:
