Office PCs

During the College’s last operational IT audit, the state auditors made several recommendations to improve cyber security. One of those is the implementation of an automatic timed lockout for administrative workstations. Therefore, between now and Tuesday, Dec. 18, CTS will be configuring changes to every employee’s office PC to include a setting that will cause each PC to automatically enter into a “locked” state after 20 consecutive minutes of inactivity. The locked state will not close applications or work in progress, but will require that the user press Ctrl Alt Del and enter a username and password to resume use of the PC. Please note: These changes will apply only to employee computers. Student labs, kiosks, Smart Classroom and similar PCs will not be affected at this time. If you have questions regarding these configuration changes or updates, please contact the CTS HelpDesk (ext. 2000).
