Extended HelpDesk Services

The College's Computing and Telecommunication Services Department has implemented the following service improvements for 2011:

• The Technical Support HelpDesk hours have been extended. New hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Faculty, staff and students can call the HelpDesk at 407.708.2000 (ext. 2000 from a campus phone) during these hours.
• The Technical Support HelpDesk is now the initial point of contact for all computer, telephone, Smart Classroom and Distance Learning technical issues. The HelpDesk will provide support for computer, telephone and first-tier MTS or DL needs, and will forward you to the appropriate department if the issue cannot be fully resolved by HelpDesk personnel. Please call 407.708.2000 (ext. 2000 from a campus phone) for assistance.
• In addition to phone, e-mail and walk-in support, the Technical Support HelpDesk now offers a live chat option for technical support during the operating hours mentioned above. To chat with a technician, go to any of the following Seminole State Web pages:

Executive Director of the Foundation

John Gyllin, VP for Advancement and Foundation Executive Director of the College of Coastal Georgia, has accepted the position of Executive Director of the Foundation for Seminole State College, effective Jan. 10. Prior to the College of Coastal Georgia, John was Executive Director of the Northeastern State University (Oklahoma) Foundation and Director of Development at Henderson State University (Arkansas). He has a B.B.A. in Management from Henderson State, a master's in business administration from Henderson State and will complete his Ed.D. from the University of Arkansas this year. Many thanks to the search committee and to all Seminole State and Foundation constituents who were active in this process.

Farewell to Sarah Balas Johnson

Please join us in extending best wishes to Sarah Balas Johnson, Acting Executive Director of the Foundation for Seminole State College, who later this month will be joining Ohio State University as a Senior Associate Director of Development with OSU's College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Science. Many thanks to Sarah for her leadership this past year in the Foundation. A goodbye celebration for Sarah will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 12, from 2-3 p.m. in the Board Room (A-200) on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. Her final day at Seminole State College will be Friday, Jan. 14.

Non-Instructional Employee Appraisals

The 2010 non-instructional employee performance appraisal cycle is under way, and the online appraisal system in TIM is now available for every non-instructional employee who worked at the College during 2010. Please see the attached e-mail from our HR Department for deadline dates and comprehensive information on the entire process.
