All full-time College faculty and staff are invited to apply for the annual Mini-Grant Program of the Foundation for Seminole State College. Again this year, the Foundation will award $20,000 worth of mini-grants in the fall and $20,000 in the spring. The maximum award for an individual grant is $2,000. Grants are awarded by a committee composed of members of the Presidents' Club Advisory Council of the Foundation. Deadline for grant submission is 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12. The renovation and relocation of Safety and Security offices on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus has been completed. The Security Office formerly located in V-002 is now located in the Student Center, Room C-108, and is a central location to store and recover lost and found property. The Communications Center (formerly in J-008a) is now located in V-002, and includes the switchboard operators/dispatchers and fire alarm/security camera monitoring. The Security Administrative Offices (formerly J-013) are now located in J-008. This area is also the new location for faculty and staff to obtain parking permits and keys.
At the Sept. 20, 2010, Board of Trustees meeting, the Board approved the purchase of a parcel of property at the corner of Weldon Blvd. and Main Road, adjacent to the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. This 2.85-acre corner lot was for sale as part of a receivership resulting from the bankruptcy of the owner.
