First Wednesday Update: July 7, 2010SACS Visit Next WeekNext Tuesday, the SACS Team will arrive at Seminole State for their visit to affirm our Level II Status to offer baccalaureate degrees. Here is the tentative schedule, as the committee focuses on all of Seminole State and the B.A.S. Interior Design program: Tuesday, July 13
Wednesday, July 14
Thursday, July 15
The site visit team consists of four senior administrators from other colleges and universities outside of Florida plus our SACS Liaison. They will be interviewing several people at our Sanford/Lake Mary and Heathrow campuses, including our deans, department chairs, faculty, administrators, and students. Additionally, each College employee can assist with this visit by ensuring that 2009-10 Annual Plans have been assessed in SPOL, by ensuring that 2010-11 Annual Plans are current and complete, by reviewing the documentation on SACS at www.seminolestate.edu/SACS, and by sharing all of this information with co-workers and others throughout the College. Please look for a Collegewide communication after the SACS Team's departure that will summarize their visit and their feedback. College Mission and Vision StatementsPlease make sure that our Seminole State Mission/Vision/Collegewide Goals statements have been updated in each location that they are posted throughout our College. If you observe any statements that have not yet been updated, please contact Charity Lo Giudice as soon as possible at ext. 2440. Students' "MyMail" System Changing in AugustDue to current system and feature limitations, during early August our students' current email system -- "MyMail" -- will change over to an improved email system called "LiveMail" which is powered and hosted by Microsoft. The new "LiveMail" will give students expanded mailbox space, synchronization with their smart phones, social networking tools and the ability to keep their email address for personal use after they graduate from Seminole State. Returning students will still be able to access their previous "MyMail" account but only on an archive ("read-only") basis ... they will only be able to send or receive new emails on the new "LiveMail" system. For a period of time this Fall Term, students clicking on the "LiveMail" button at the top of our home page will be directed to a landing page with links to both the new "LiveMail" system and any archived messages in their "MyMail Archives." All student e-mail addresses will be automatically updated on class rosters and Sakai. |
