2009 Updates

First Wednesday Update: November 4, 2009

New College Logo

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback via our website last week regarding the three logo choices for Seminole State College. By the Board Meeting on November 16th, we will have a final recommendation for our Trustees to consider. Once a design is approved, we anticipate having the final artwork for the new logo by the end of November, with guidelines issued at that time for printing new business cards, stationery, name tags, forms, etc. Remember, we will be transitioning into use of the new logo, when existing supplies and materials bearing the SCC name / logo are depleted. If you run into an unusual circumstance or demand before the new logo is available, please look to your division leader or VP for direction.

SACS Update

A huge thanks to the SACS Core Team, to the SACS Audit Teams, and to many other College constituents who worked so hard to successfully submit the College's Fifth-Year Review Report on October 16th. Now, the next phase of important work related to SACS will continue on into next year. The Core Team and Audit Teams are in the process of updating and documenting additional SACS standards that are due later this month, in preparation for the Level II Site Visit in the spring of 2010. Please continue to be very responsive to any requests associated with SACS endeavors ... they remain critically important for our institution.

Thanksgiving Break

The College will be closed for Thanksgiving Break from Wednesday, Nov. 25 through Sunday, Nov. 29. Please be sure to turn off all computers and office equipment before departing for Thanksgiving, in order to hold down utility costs during the College's closure. We hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable Thanksgiving Break.
