All full- and regular part-time non-instructional SCC employees must use a new online tool to create and submit their 2008 appraisals. The submission deadlines have been extended to allow more time for training and familiarization with this new system. Many thanks are in order for all of the constituents from the Performance Appraisal Review Team, as well as the Human Resources Computing and Telecommunication Services Departments, who worked hard to bring about this important new online non-instructional performance appraisal system.
A great deal of work continues to unfold on a variety of construction projects throughout the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. The E Building renovation is complete, with furniture installation in progress and moving schedules being arranged with the faculty and staff members who will be moving into this renovated space. The remodeling and connecting of Buildings K and I continues, with the new Center for Public Safety taking shape so quickly that it may be ready for occupation before the end of 2009.
A "topping off ceremony" was held last Friday for the new SCC/UCF University Partnership Center. All four floors are now clearly visible, with the brickwork and roofing process well under way. This huge project is on target for completion by February 2010.
Parking lot expansions are also proceeding rapidly at several locations throughout the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus. The highly visible mounds of earth seen on campus will be used for grading new parking lots that should be available this summer. Everyone's patience with the temporary changes due to the many simultaneous construction projects is appreciated!
One of the SCC Leadership Academy's activities is to collectively develop a class project that will have a positive internal impact on SCC and help ensure that the College is a great place to work. Therefore, the Executive Team is pleased to endorse the launch of our SCC Leadership Academy's creative new program for SCC employees called "Get Engaged."
This program will consist of six get-togethers for SCC employees from across the College, sponsored and facilitated by Leadership Academy members (Thanks to the SCC Foundation for paying for the meals.). By attending one of these events, you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with other SCC employees you do not ordinarily work with and participate in cross-College conversation. Complete details about this program are available online at https://www.seminolestate.edu/applications/uber/popups/pr_scc_today.php?newsid=1682. All SCC employees are encouraged to consider participating in the Leadership Academy's Get Engaged Program and become acquainted with others who work at the College.
If you have not already done so, please sign up for SCC's emergency text messaging service that can be utilized in emergency situations to communicate with SCC students and employees, as well as other interested community constituents. With sudden spring weather changes upon us and hurricane season on the horizon, now is a good time to sign up to receive special weather alerts and other emergency information about our community and SCC. This text messaging is a subset of Seminole County’s current text messaging alert system, so there is no cost to SCC.
Once you have finished, you should receive any requested emergency information from Seminole County and SCC.
