Monday, Dec. 15, is the last faculty work day of the Fall 2008 Term and Monday, Dec. 22 is the last work day of the year for most noninstructional SCC employees. On Friday, Jan. 2, all college offices will re-open, and faculty members will report for the Spring 2009 Term. Sanford/Lake Mary Campus employees should be aware that the entire campus will be essentially nonoperational and inaccessible for most of the Winter Break. From Dec. 23-31, there will be no heating or air conditioning due to major piping and electrical projects taking place throughout the campus. Fire alarm testing, sidewalk/concrete repairs, interior painting and lamp bulb changing will also take place. Do not schedule any meetings or events on the campus during this time period.
All SCC employees are required to have completed the Drug-Free Awareness for Employees Program, and all SCC supervisors (any employee with directly reporting staff members) are also required to complete the Drug-Free Awareness for Supervisors Program. These self-paced online information programs are available from the Learning Connection and can be accessed from your workplace PC. Every SCC employee is required to participate in the awareness program and complete an online acknowledgment form by December 31, 2008. Supervisors must make arrangements for their staff members to complete this program.
All SCC faculty and staff members are invited to assist the Endowed Teaching Chair Screening Committee by completing the online survey (http://www.seminolestate.edu/foundation/endowedchair/survey.php) on one or more of this year's 14 nominees. The deadline for this survey has been extended to Friday, Dec. 5, 2008. You can provide information for more than one nominee. The Screening Committee urges you to complete surveys for any faculty nominee and, especially, to provide information on nominees within your own departments. At the end of the survey, there is a comment box to note any specific qualities or accomplishments of the nominee. These additional comments will greatly aid the committee in recognizing the ways our faculty members have distinguished themselves.
Congratulations to the following nominees who will be participating in the screening process:
