Scott D. Howat
Vice Chair, Seminole State College District Board of Trustees 
Scott Howat was appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to Seminole State's Board of Trustees for a term beginning Aug. 17, 2007, and ending May 31, 2011.
Howat brings with him 16 years of experience in education, beginning with his first position as a social studies teacher and baseball coach at University High School. In 2002, Scott was appointed to the position of assistant principal at University by Superintendent Ronald Blocker, serving in that capacity for four years.
In March 2006, Howat was appointed by Blocker as the director of legislative and congressional relations for Orange County Public Schools, where he continues to serve.
Howat graduated from Rollins College with a B.A. in political science. He earned his master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Central Florida.
His wife, Catherine, is a kindergarten teacher at Southwood Elementary. Howat is also a proud father of two children, Marisa and Mason, 12. His family attends Summit Church in Orlando.
